3. Rajon Rondo is going to be a huge difference maker in the postseason

When it is all said and done, chances are that the Los Angeles Lakers’ ceiling next season is the Western Conference Finals. However, all it takes is some bad luck for the Warriors and some good breaks for the Lakers and all of a sudden LeBron James could make his ninth-straight NBA Finals appearance.

Regardless of whether or not that happens, Rajon Rondo is going to prove to be a huge asset to this young Lakers team once the playoffs roll around.

During the regular season, Rondo is going to be the sixth or seventh-best player for the Lakers production-wise and is going to do his job off the bench as well as pushing Lonzo Ball to be better.

However, once playoff basketball hits, Rondo’s experience in high-pressure situations becomes a huge commodity, especially as someone off the bench that can stop opposing runs before they happen and start runs for the Lakers to cut the deficit.

We see it every year out of Rondo, the playoff roll around and all of a sudden he looks like the point guard that controlled the offense of the big three in Boston.

In his last 11 playoff games over the last two seasons, Rondo has averaged 10.5 points, 11.8 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals. Every night in the playoffs is a chance for Rondo to put up a triple-double.

Having that alongside LeBron James, who can only do so much, is huge for the Los Angeles Lakers and may actually convince the team to re-sign Rajon Rondo next offseason.
