3. Jared Goff will join the 500 Club

This is perhaps one of the boldest realistic predictions you can make for Jared Goff next season. While you could always predict that he will break some sort of NFL record, which would be quite the feat, that does not even seem feasible.

More from LA Sports Hub

To some, this accomplishments seems impossible for Goff so early in his career. However, due to his nature to let the ball fly and the improved pass catchers around him, it is more than possible that Jared Goff could surpass the 500 yards in a single game.

Five hundred passing yards in a single game is definitely the feat and only 18 quarterbacks have accomplished the feat; the last being Derek Carr on October 30, 2016.

While it certainly is rare, it has happened more frequently in the past several years to the game evolving into a pass-first league.

Since the turn of the decade, Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Eli Manning, Matt Schaub, Tony Romo, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Carr have accomplished the feat.

A full list of the 500 Club and when each occurrence happened can be found here.

The biggest game I have circled on the schedule for this to happen is November 19 when the Rams host the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game last season and are losing the team’s best corner in Marcus Peters.

While Eric Berry is still lurking in the secondary, this is going to be a playoff atmosphere game down the stretch where Goff is going to need to come up big. That, mixed with the poor pass defense, makes the Chiefs the prime candidate.

However, it could happen to any team with Goff’s ability to throw the ball and the great targets the Los Angeles Rams have put around him.
