Why the Los Angeles Lakers are better than you think

3. This is still LeBron James we are talking about
For whatever reason, NBA fans seem to be downplaying the impact LeBron James is going to have on the Los Angeles Lakers next season. This is the same player that carried the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals; the same player that last season, everyone exclaimed could carry any team deep in the NBA Playoffs.

Yet for some reason, now that he is actually on the Lakers, that same confidence is gone and is met with more cons than pros. All of a sudden LeBron is a mentor to this young group and is not looking to win in year one.
Yes, the move was a lifestyle move and the Golden State Warriors have the obvious advantage. However, LeBron is not going to just roll over and take the beating. He is going to want to win and is going to take the Lakers very deep because of it.
LeBron brings much more than an impact on the box score. He brings a certain swagger and leadership to a Lakers team that has been lacking that superstar face since Kobe Bryant retired in 2016.
LeBron James is the perfect person to come to the Los Angeles Lakers and return to the promise land. That promise alone is going to fuel James even more than the shadow of Michael Jordan is already fueling him.
LeBron James is special. He has carried worse teams to the NBA Finals and is going to continue to prove people wrong last year. The Los Angeles Lakers will be a top-three seed in the West and establish themselves within the NBA’s elite.
