3. Can the Los Angeles Chargers contain Kareem Hunt?

Due to the pressure that the Los Angeles Chargers will put on Patrick Mahomes and the simple fact that the Chiefs have one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL, the Chargers are going to see plenty of Kareem Hunt in the week 1 matchup.

Hunt is one of the most entertaining running backs to watch is one of the fastest and most agile backs in the league. Hunt was a huge threat in both the passing game and the running game last season and will be huge in serving as an insurance policy for Mahomes early on.

And while the Chargers may be very good at putting pressure on the quarterback, the team was not great in stopping the run last season. Hunt had a field day in both games against the Chargers as well; he had his two best games of the year last season against the Chargers, combining for 327 rushing yards, 62 receiving yards and three total touchdowns.

The Chiefs are going to rely heavily on Hunt and the Los Angeles Chargers know that. The Chargers are not going to be able to completely shut Hunt down, however, the team needs to look to at least contain him.

Force the Chiefs to pass the ball on second and third and long. First downs are going to be critical for the Chargers defense and will set the tone for the entire game.

Los Angeles did get better in stopping the run with a healthy Denzel Perryman and a solid outside linebacker addition in rookie Uchenna Nwosu. We will see how much that defense improved.
