Los Angeles Chargers: Three keys to victory against Rams
By Jason Reed
3. Get an early lead and put pressure on Jared Goff
The Los Angeles Rams are the most talented team in the NFL, that is without questions. The weapons on offense mixed in with the defensive stars and the Rams really don’t have many weak spots on the entire roster. Rarely do we see an NFL team that is literally good in nearly every single way.

At the end of the day, though, the Rams are still led by a young quarterback in Jared Goff that is susceptible to mistakes and only has one great year on his record.
While we are not questioning Goff’s talent, as he certainly is one of the quarterbacks of the future in the NFL, he does not have a ton of experience and will still make the mistakes that young quarterbacks will make.
Those mistakes are more prone to come out when the Rams are trailing and Goff is frantic to get his team back in the game. While he did a good job against the Oakland Raiders in Week 1, putting the foot on the gas and forcing Goff to make big plays is the Chargers’ best chance at winning.
This is especially true with the Chargers’ defense. There are going to be big moments in which Goff cannot hand the ball off to Todd Gurley and has to throw on a third and eight. With pressure coming from all sides, Goff is going to be forced to make a quick decision.
Goff struggling under these circumstances is not a guarantee. He very well could step up in the pocket and deliver bullets.
However, putting some doubt in his head and making the Rams play from behind prevents the team from getting into a groove.
