3. Anthony Davis is the long-term answer at center

One of the biggest questions surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers heading into next season is what the team’s long-term plans are at the center position. Right now, the Dodgers have JaVale McGee, Ivica Zubac and potentially Moritz Wagner, LeBron James and even Kyle Kuzma seeing time at center.

More from LA Sports Hub

Only two of those players are traditional centers and neither of which are necessarily great centers. McGee is on an expiring deal and Zubac still has to prove that he can reach his potential, which still is not at an all-star level.

Davis would provide the long-term solution to the Los Angeles Lakers at center and would be a great one at that. Trading for him would likely require moving Brandon Ingram, allowing James to move to his natural small forward position and Kyle Kuzma to be inserted into the starting lineup.

Having LeBron and Kuzma is only a slightly worse outlook than having Ingram and LeBron.

However, having Davis over McGee as the team’s starting center is a significant upgrade not only next season but for the next several seasons.

The Lakers already have a log-jam of sorts from shooting guard to power forward but have the need for pieces at center. With no spectacular options next summer and no other big trade options, Davis begins to make the most sense.

Next. Lakers that will be under a microscope. dark

Waiting it out and signing a superstar so the team does not have to give up young assets would be a better outlook for the future. However, with the entire situation in mind, it is clear that Anthony Davis is the favorite to join LeBron in LA.
