Why the Los Angeles Lakers are perfect:

We could go on and on about why the Los Angeles Lakers are the perfect team for Anthony Davis to win and cement his legacy in the league. Los Angeles is just such a good natural fit for Davis that is is hard to ignore the Lakers rumors that surround him.

More from LA Sports Hub

Coming to Los Angeles is a path to success, even in the deep Western Conference. Adding Davis would give the Lakers two of arguably the top-three players in the NBA, with Davis eventually likely becoming the best player in the NBA as James and Kevin Durant get older.

The supporting cast would be great as well. The Lakers would obviously have to get rid of Brandon Ingram or Kyle Kuzma (likely Ingram), which would sting for some fans, but still be an improvement.

Ingram does have a high ceiling but Davis is as good as it gets. Instead of waiting for Ingram to potentially be close to as good as Davis is after LeBron retires, the Lakers can pull the trigger and get that talent right away.

Then there are the obvious advantages of playing in Los Angeles and the Hollywood connection that is naturally created.

This could even serve as a torch passing from LeBron to Davis, which would ensure that Davis becomes the face of the NBA. It is unclear how many more years LeBron has left in the tank but winning 2-3 rings with Davis would allow him to retire atop the GOAT ranks or even leave to try and play for the team that drafts his son.

In the final years of being in LA, Davis would emerge as the leader of the team, with LeBron serving as the veteran that brings him under his wing.

dark. Next. The Lakers are the perfect positionless team

This could be similar to Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, expect Davis is already further along than Bryant was in that time.
