6. A Los Angeles Lakers-New Orleans Pelicans playoff series

Out of all the potential matchups for the Los Angeles Lakers, a potential seven-game series with the New Orleans Pelicans seems like it would be the most interesting to watch.

Seven-game series with the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and even the Utah Jazz would all be fun to watch. However, the dynamic that would be present in a Lakers-Pelicans series would give it that extra oomph that those other series are missing.

There are multiple things to consider in this series. First, there would be an insane matchup between LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who would be attempting to one-up each other on every possession.

This could be a preview of things to come if Davis ever becomes a Laker. Going toe-to-toe with LeBron would certainly impress the front office and make them more willing than they already are to trade for Davis.

However, there is also the narrative around Julius Randle, who left LA for New Orleans this offseason. Randle did not agree to a big contract at all and it was a bit surprising that the Lakers did not match.

Watching Randle get extending court time against his former team in his first year in the playoffs certainly would be a spectacle.

If this is going to happen, the most likely seeding would be the Lakers as the third seed and the Pelicans as the sixth seed. However, two and seven and four and five would also be conceivable.
