Los Angeles Lakers: Three bold predictions for the season opener
By Jason Reed
3. LeBron James and Damian Lillard embrace in a similar moment
Now, this has nothing really to do with anything that will happen during the game. I am sure that it will be very interesting to see LeBron, Ingram and the Lakers battle against what should be a great showing by Damian Lillard.

Opposing stars get up when they see that LeBron James is coming to their building. Everyone wants to beat LeBron and Lillard is going to be fueled by an extra dosage of motivation as he takes on the Lakers in front of his own crowd.
We all know how great Lillard is and LeBron knows it as well. LeBron reportedly has wanted to play with Lillard even before he joined the Lakers (h/t Silver Screen and Roll). This goes hand-in-hand with the Lakers rumors that there could be a potential trade for Lillard centered around Lonzo Ball.
Acquiring Lillard would make sense for the Lakers if the team is doubtful of landing a superstar in free agency next summer. LeBron has thrived when having an elite scoring guard to take the pressure of late in games.
Plus, a potential deal for Anthony Davis has a confusing timeline that takes it lining up perfectly for the Lakers. There is also the added bonus of keeping Ingram to potentially have three elite scorers.
Whether or not this is serious or mere speculation, we will certainly see LeBron and Lillard embrace after the game in a way very similar to how LeBron and Ball embraced after facing each other for the first time last season.
It only added fuel to the fire back then and this will definitely add more fuel to the Lillard-Lakers fire.
