The Los Angeles Rams host the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 with many people expecting an easy win — calm the expectations, it could be a trap.

The Los Angeles Rams are the best team in football and it really is not even close. Not only are the Rams a perfect 7-0 to start the season, but the team has also bulldozed its way to that 7-0 record.

Outside of a backdoor cover from the Denver Broncos and a legitimately close game in Seattle, the Rams have been smooth sailing this season. Even in the team’s two closest games, it took extremely cold weather to make the game close in Denver and took multiple injuries for Seattle to be in it.

In Week 8, the Los Angeles Rams come up against a one-man band in Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. While the Rams certainly respect what Rodgers can do, the rest of the Packers have been borderline awful this season.

A bad defense should lead to a ton of points for the Rams and the lack of offensive weapons, mixed with LA’s pass-rush and it could be a long day for Aaron Rodgers. This has all the makings of a game that the Rams win by at least two scores.

And that is where the trap game dynamic comes into play and where the Rams need to be perfect. This game should be easy. But if the Rams carry that mindset into Sunday, Rodgers will do what he does best and shock LA and the rest of the NFL.

The Rams are coming off a 39-10 butt-whopping over the San Francisco 49ers. Los Angeles did everything right in that game and it was never even close.

Meanwhile, the Packers nearly lost to the C.J. Beathard-led 49ers, needing a comeback and last-second field goal to win.

The week before that, the Packers lost to the Detroit Lions after falling early and coming up short in the comeback efforts. The teams’ wins this season include a comeback win over the Chicago Bears, the Buffalo Bills and the 49ers.

The Bears are definitely good but that took a superhuman effort from Aaron Rodgers. The other teams the Packers beat, well, they stink.

Add into the fact that the Packers have not won a game on the road this season and this seems like one of the easiest matchups of the year for the Rams.

And while the game should be easy in many ways, the team cannot take the Packers lightly, especially with Aaron Rodgers under center. No lead is safe with Rodgers running the offense and all it takes is some minor mistakes for Rodgers to capitalize and shock the Rams.

This game will be a scoring fest, the Rams continually pulling away while Rodgers does his best to carry his team.

It will be a fun game. All the Los Angeles Rams need to do is realize that this could be a deadly trap game against an elite NFL quarterback. Doesn’t happen often.
