1. Philadelphia Phillies

There could be a legitimately scary partnership going down in the City of Brotherly love that would catapult the Philadelphia Phillies from likely postseason contender to perennial World Series contender. In fact, it could even make the Phillies the favorite to win the National League Pennant.

There is a possibility that both Manny Machado and Bryce Harper could be taking their talents to the Phillies. Not only is this a possibility but it has become a very real possibility as free agency looms.

More from LA Sports Hub

Back in September, it was reported that rival executives in the MLB thought that the Phillies were the favorites to land both Machado and Harper. If that was not scary enough, the Phillies are listed as the betting favorites to sign Harper and Machado.

The odds of signing Bryce Harper are even for the Phillies, Machado is +150. Not only are those the best odds but they are significantly low as well. There has to be some kind of inside knowledge that has been leaked in certain MLB circles that has not yet hit the public.

Philadelphia had the eight-lowest payroll in baseball last season with a payroll of just $104 million. Philadelphia is a relatively large market and the team definitely has the money to pay Harper and Machado a combined $75 million a year.

The team is young, the team is talented and the team is only going to get better moving forward. A 3-4-5 of Machado, Harper and Rhys Hoskins could do serious damage alongside a pitching staff that is led by Aaron Nola.
