2. Damian Lillard

This one probably surprised you.

The Portland Trail Blazers are playing just decent basketball right now but are right in the mix of the crowded Western Conference. However, if the team begins to slip and cannot add another piece to the puzzle in order to give themselves a realistic shot, I could see the front office completely blowing it up and starting anew.

More from LA Sports Hub

Nobody on the roster has even close to the same trade value as Damian Lillard and he would be a guy that would warrant an Ingram price tag. This is also interesting as well as the Lakers already have a point guard in Lonzo Ball and wouldn’t necessarily need to add Lillard without getting rid of Ball.

Quite frankly, I think a Lillard-Ball backcourt could work and the worst-case scenario would be running Lillard and Josh Hart as the starters with Ball coming in as the sixth-man.

Heck, even if the trade needed Ball to be included to negate some draft picks I would be more than ok with it as well.

Lillard is an elite guard that can create his own shot and can lead to scoring without the help of LeBron James.

LeBron thrives when having that safety net of a guard to play with and that is why he left Miami once father time started to catch up with Dwayne Wade and left Cleveland once Kyrie Irving got traded to Boston.

Lillard is already a much better scorer than Irving and has been for the last three years. A partnership of LeBron and Lillard would be insane; if the team could somehow add a cheaper stretch four star then it would be a better version of the title-winning Cavaliers.
