Los Angeles Rams: Keys to advance past the Dallas Cowboys
By Jason Reed
3. Push the pace on offense and don’t take the foot off the gas
The Los Angeles Rams are at their best when they are putting their foot on their opponents” throats by continuously scoring and not showing mercy on offense. Los Angeles has the weapons to score over 40 points in any game that they play in and have the head coach to increase those chances tenfold.

However, the playoffs are different. Instead of taking the risks that a team would normally take in the regular season, coaches get too caught up in particularly matchups and game plans that often slow the game down and become a completely different style of play than the team is used to.
Just look at the Chicago Bears. Even though the Bears were great at running the football this season the team only ran 18 times. I get that the Eagles have a bad secondary but that was the case of a head coach becoming too caught up in particular matchups.
The Rams cannot shy away from the way they have played all season long and need to come out firing early to get on the board and not take the pressure off the Cowboys. Yes, there is a risk in playing this way but that is when the Rams are at their best: when playing Rams football.
Scoring early is a must and the best way to do that is to run a no-huddle offense on the first drive with designed plays to get downfield. After that, the Rams must continue to push the pace, run no-huddle as frequently as possible and gas this Cowboys’ defense out.
Slowing down the game is the last thing you want to do against the Cowboys, that is when they are at their best.
