3. Corey Seager will be the National League MVP

If I were to have told you in January of 2018 that Christian Yelich was going to win the National League MVP then you probably would have laughed at me. And while you might not be laughing at the idea of Corey Seager winning MVP, those outside of Los Angeles won’t see it coming.

More from LA Sports Hub

For whatever reason, Seager has never really gotten the attention he deserves from the national audience. Perhaps it is because he is not in commercials and was not this huge name coming out of high school.

He is the brother of a solid third baseman in Seattle and a great player that shows up and does his job in a routine way. There really is not anything particularly flashy about Seager.

So when you bring Seager up as an MVP candidate I guarantee that there is a big section of the MLB community that would name several other guys that they think are ahead of Seager, which is perfectly fine.

However, he is going to have MVP-caliber numbers, is going to play on a team that wins its seventh straight National League West Title and is going to blow all of those expectations out of the water.

Heck, Seager was an MVP finalist in his rookie season. While that year was a runaway year for Kris Bryant, he showed that he can put together the kind of numbers to impress the voters.

Hitting .310 with 32 home runs and close to 100 RBIs is about as MVP as it gets. There are some other great candidates in the National League, but when it is said and done, it will be Corey Seager.
