Three reasons why the Los Angeles Rams will be Super Bowl Champions
By Jason Reed
3. The Los Angeles Rams have the play calling to beat the Patriots
We wanted to do something about Jared Goff or Todd Gurley in this final slide as both guys are key to the Rams success over the last two years. However, the Patriots have already beaten two great quarterbacks in Philip Rivers and Patrick Mahomes and did face off against an elite running back in Melvin Gordon.

Plus, Gurley didn’t really do anything in the NFC Championship Game and C.J. Anderson has become just as impactful as the best running back in football. So while both Goff and Gurley are extremely important and impactful, neither will be the reason why the Rams win.
Instead, it will be the guy that is calling the shots in Sean McVay. The same guy that turned the Rams from lovable losers to a playoff team to a Super Bowl team. The same guy that broke the record for youngest NFL head coach ever and is exactly half the age of his opposite, Bill Belichick.
To beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl you have to not only play mistake free but you have to be bold in your play calling. The Rams are certainly bold and are smart in when they do so.
Look at last season. Nobody really considered Doug Pederson to be a great head coach but his bold play calling and the now infamous Philly Special is what arguably led the Nick Foles-led Philadelphia Eagles to victory.
We might not see an LA special out of the Rams but we more than likely will see the team going for it on multiple fourth downs as well as a surprise trick special teams plays. I would not put it past McVay to run a fake punt or field goal or even try and catch the Patriots off guard with an onside kick.
You cannot be careless but you have to coach unconventionally to get past Bill Belichick. Sean McVay does just that and arguably is the best at it.
