This would be the biggest trade that the Los Angeles Lakers can realistically make outside of Anthony Davis during the Trade Deadline and is one that the Lakers rumors are pointing towards.

Zach Lowe of ESPN explored the idea of the Lakers trading for Vucevic, something that Laker fans would definitely welcome happening. Vucevic has really excelled in his contract year this season and was voted as an all-star reserve.

And I don’t mean to toot my own horn (I totally am), but this is a trade that we have been lobbying for even before the season began. I definitely did not see Vucevic being an all-star, which only sweetens the pot for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Orlando Magic would be foolish to not trade Vucevic before the deadline. He is on an expiring contract and is going to get decent money in the offseason. With the team just drafting center Mohamed Bamba with the sixth overall pick.

Bamba is out indefinitely with a stress fracture but he is still the future of the organization at the center position. Plus, with the Magic on the outside looking in, it makes more sense to deal Vucevic and increase the team’s draft stock.

A package of KCP, Wagner (who could be a nice piece to put at power forward alongside Bamba in the future) and a first-round pick is more than enough for 25+ games of Vucevic.

For the Lakers, it is worth making this deal as the team would be adding a second-round pick to potentially package and move up in the draft or use for depth.

It also makes sense as it not only helps the Lakers’ chances of winning this season but potentially gives the team its long-term solution at center. Vucevic could fall in love with LA and re-sign on the promise of playing alongside LeBron and Davis.

Next. Anthony Davis would be worth four picks. dark

LeBron, Davis and Vucecic all in the starting five is good enough to win an NBA title and is certainly something the Los Angeles Lakers should strive towards.
