4. The Los Angeles Dodgers could become the first team in a century to lose three consecutive World Series

There is a great thing about being consistent and making the playoffs every year. You obviously cannot win the World Series without making the postseason first and the Los Angeles Dodgers have done that for six consecutive years, winning the National League West in every single year.

However, there is also a bad thing about making the postseason so many years in a row. If you never reach the final goal of winning the World Series then the playoffs suddenly become invaluable.

It does not matter how good you are and even if you are good for over half a decade, without winning it all you still have the taste of lovable loser in your mouth. That is how the Los Angeles Dodgers feel, although they are not all that lovable.

The Dodgers have lost back-to-back World Series, taking a page out of the Texas Rangers’ book, and are more than good enough to represent the National League yet again in the Fall Classic.

If that is the case, the Dodgers run the risk of being the first team in over a century to win three straight Pennants and not win a single World Series.

Only two teams in MLB history have done this: the 1907-1909 Detroit Tigers and the 1911-1913 New York Giants.

Dodger fans have to worry about making it to the World Series first before worrying about this.
