3. Anthony Davis will eventually be a Laker regardless

After taking in everything that happened during the NBA Trade Deadline I can come to one pretty sure conclusion: Anthony Davis wants to be on the Los Angeles Lakers. If there is any doubt in your mind of that, well, let me clear that for you.

More from LA Sports Hub

First and foremost, the move to switch from his old agent to Rich Paul prior to the season was definitely calculated. It is not a coincidence that all this is happening after he made the switch to Klutch Sports Group.

The timing is also a bit strange. Davis’ requests came out a little more than a month after Davis met with James after the two teams played for dinner. While it probably was a friendly dinner, we cannot pretend that they don’t talk about their intentions.

The list of teams that Davis would be willing to sign an extension with is also a bit fishy. The Milwaukee Bucks are a good team but have virtually nothing to offer for Davis. The New York Knicks would be nice, except that emerged after the team traded Kristaps Porzingis and had nothing left.

The same can be said for the Los Angeles Clippers, whose biggest concern in cap space and not giving up assets for Davis. That list of teams is certainly calculated. The only team that can really add Davis is the Los Angeles Lakers.

It might not have been this month and it might not be in July, either. Eventually, Anthony Davis is going to come to the Los Angeles Lakers. This entire fiasco has seemed like a ploy just to get him here and the entire reason why the Pelicans did not give in is they did not want to give Davis what he wants.

dark. Next. Trading Ivica Zubac is not as bad as it seems

If any other team offered the Pelicans three young stars and two draft picks they would have jumped at it immediately. However, the Pelicans instead decided to be stubborn and not give into the Lakers’ plans.
