2. The front office is going to let Walton win his job back

Luke Walton may or may not be the best coach the Los Angeles Lakers could have and you may or may not agree with this but the front office seems to have some faith in Walton and are going to give him a chance before simply stripping his job from him in the middle of a season.

More from LA Sports Hub

Walton and the front office already have an existing relationship from his playing days and the front office made sure to make it clear that they have all the faith in the world in Walton when they first hired him.

It might not produce the results right away but the front office obviously has respect for him. That does not mean it will keep his job, but it does mean that a deep run in the playoffs could rid any doubt in the front office’s mind.

Quite frankly, we think Walton is going to get hired and the only way to prevent it is by getting to the Western Conference Finals and at least be competitive with the Golden State Warriors.

If that is not the case, the second that the season ends Walton’s job will likely be gone. Whether it ends in the regular season, the first round of the playoffs or the second, the front office will have the comfort knowing that they gave Walton one last chance to prove anyone wrong.

And that is fair. While the Lakers would be better off with a different coach, a different coach is not going to suddenly make this team a title contender. Let Walton ride this job until the wheels fall off and hopefully he can surprise some.

Next. Anthony Davis is the only real option this summer. dark

We don’t think that will be the case but we think he has at least earned that right. If you want Walton gone, you better be rooting against the Los Angeles Lakers making a deep run in the playoffs.
