2. Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal is in a very similar situation as Damian Lillard. He is one half of a talented backcourt that has not lived up to expectations based on how much talent the team truly has. In Beal’s case, though, the Washington Wizards do have far less talent than the Portland Trailblazers and the results are evident.

Also unlike Lillard, it is the shooting guard in this situation that is being traded away, not the point guard. The Wizards’ point guard, John Wall, has a massive extension kicking in after this season and will likely be out until next February with a torn Achilles.

It is time for the Wizards to hit a soft-reset on the roster. The team is not going to be able to move Wall, especially now after his injury and instead might have to turn to their next most valuable trade chip: Bradley Beal.

The Wizards have time to try and field a competitive team with Wall and can afford to take on young pieces that can eventually process into stars. While Beal is definitely talented, the combination of Beal and Wall has not produced results and that likely won’t change in the now tough Eastern Conference.

The Los Angeles Lakers could get away with sending a package of just Brandon Ingram and some picks for Beal. However, if Beal really is the team’s last option, the team can include Kyle Kuzma with Ingram and an unprotected first-round pick.

The team would have to take the same third-team route or would need to do a sign-and-trade, like with Lillard. However, this proposed trade package would lead to a starting five with Lonzo Ball, Bradley Beal and LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers front office can fill out the rest but that is a pretty good start to a title-contending team.
