Los Angeles Dodgers: Predicting the 2019 NL West standings
By Jason Reed
1. Los Angeles Dodgers — 101-61
Yes, the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to finish the year with a very comfortable 13-game margin after needing to fight tooth and nail for the NL West last season. The surprising thing here is obviously the 101-win total, as winning 100 games in an MLB season is a very hard task to accomplish.

We broke down in an earlier article why the Dodgers will win 100 games this season that you can check out here. To give you an idea, the Dodgers were significantly better than the record indicated last year and that is going to straighten itself out in 2019.
First of all, there is not a pitching staff in baseball that is as deep as the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team has seven guys that all would be at least the third-best pitcher on nearly every other big league team in the league.
Having that deep starting pitching is what keeps you afloat and keeps you from going on big losing streaks.
The bullpen is highly underrated although we are not going to pretend like it is the best in the league and the offense is going to get a huge boost from a full season of Justin Turner and Corey Seager.
One of the biggest problems last year is that Cody Bellinger, the team’s best run producer, was constantly coming up with two outs in the inning. Having Seager back and another reliable bat in Turner ahead of him is going to stop that trend and give him more chances to score runs.
The team is also adding two quick options that can get around the bases and play small ball in A.J. Pollock and Alex Verdugo. That is something the Dodgers had nothing of last season and it does hurt the offense.
