3. Nickeil Alexander-Walker

As we mentioned in the previous slide the other position that the Los Angeles Lakers should look to add is at shooting guard. We did not mention that the team is going to need a backup point guard, but that is not worth even the tenth overall pick.

More from LA Sports Hub

If the Lakers end up with the tenth overall pick then the chances are that there will not be a player that could actually have a decent and immediate impact on the team. Instead, at this point, the Lakers would either be looking to groom someone for the future or draft someone that can play a specific role.

In this case, the Lakers would be going with the specific role and would be opting to go the route of a sharpshooter in Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Alexander-Walker is a career 38.6 percent three-point shooter at the collegiate level and is averaging 16.6 points per game. While his game does seem rather one dimensional, he can be a heat check guy for the Lakers that comes in and hits big shots and benefits from LeBron James’ facilitating.

He has shown great off-ball potential in college with the ability to score off of screens as well as use his off-ball movement to set up open looks for other guys as well. Everything related to scoring the basketball he does right.

Alexander-Walker is not the most showstopping pick and he might only average seven to nine points per game in his rookie season, which might not seem like a lot.

However, his ability to shoot the basketball and score in various ways is huge for this Lakers team, which is why he is a good option with the tenth overall pick.
