The Los Angeles Dodgers’ five-game winning streak was snapped on Monday by the St. Louis Cardinals, who escaped with a 4-3 victory.

It looked like the Los Angeles Dodgers were going to have yet another fantastic showing on Monday after the first inning. The team scored two runs in the first, which included an RBI and run scored by Cody Bellinger, which is something we have seen a lot of lately.

However, the Cardinals responded with a booming home run off the bat of Marcell Ozuna in the bottom of the first and were then able to score on Scott Alexander and Joe Kelly to escape with a 4-3 win.

There has been one trend about the Dodgers this year that is pretty sad: the team loses when Joe Kelly pitches.

Not every time, but each of the Dodgers’ three losses thus far this season were games in which Kelly either blew a lead, or in this case, the tie.

But to be fair, the Dodgers have scored just a combined eight runs in those three games. Those games happen to even the best teams in baseball and you cannot really get that upset over it.

This loss also hurt the fans’ Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak hitting streak, although we were able to capitalize on A.J. Pollock‘s first-inning double to extend our streak.

So for the first time since our original three-game streak was broken, we are back on top of the fans. Here are the picks for Tuesday.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 4): Joc Pederson

Joc Pederson started the 2019 season off extremely hot, which had many thinking that he was set to have a career year. However, despite Pederson literally doing this all the time, he has since fallen back from grace and has been downright bad the last week.

You can blame Pederson getting multiple days off because of the Dodgers facing four southpaws in a row but it is something that has been a part of Pederson’s production his entire career. He will bounce back with more extremely hot streaks and will fall somewhere in the middle, as he usually does.

It is Pederson’s cold streak that is leading us to select him, as contradictory as that sounds. Pederson’s average is all the way down to .233 for the year as he is 0-18 his last seven games.

That streak has to stop and Pederson is going to get a base hit. He was seeing the baseball way too good to go 20 at-bats without a base hit and will actually belt his fourth home run of the year off of Daniel Norris.

The fans’ pick (Current streak: 0): Cody Bellinger

If you have followed this series at all then you would know that the fans have been picking Cody Bellinger, a lot. This is the fifth time in the last six games that Bellinger is the fan pick as he finally went hitless on Monday with an 0-2 effort; although he had an RBI and two walks.

It actually makes sense to pick Bellinger after his 0-2 outing. It seems impossible for Bellinger to go hitless in consecutive games with the way he has been swinging the bat this year.
