3. He has a higher ceiling than both Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma

This might throw some people off but Lonzo Ball has a higher ceiling than both Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, at least as far as this writer is concerned.

More from LA Sports Hub

Out of the three, the best right now is undoubtedly Brandon Ingram. I would be lying if I said that Ball was farther along in his progression than Ingram, who showed legitimate all-star signs during stretches this season.

Most would also agree that Ingram has the highest ceiling, although that honor should go to Ball. It might not make sense with Ingram being the better player right now but Ball obviously has a massive impact on this team and that is just a testament to what he provides this team, even outside of the box score.

The comparisons to Jason Kidd still hold up and Ball can legitimately craft a prime where he averages 17/10/8 with elite defense. That would make him one of the all-around best point guards in the league and is not too inconceivable considering his production thus far.

His numbers did take a hit in his second season because of LeBron James but Ball was already setting precedents in his rookie season.

Although he only played 52 games, if Ball would have snagged one more rebound he would have joined Draymond Green, Ben Simmons, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook as the only players with 10 or more points and seven or more rebounds and assists per game.

Next. The worst moves of Magic Johnson's tenure. dark

He might not have the prettiest jump shot or ever be a 25-per-night kind of player but he is an all-around contributor to the offense as well as being arguably the best young defensive point guard in the league.
