3. Khris Middleton

Unlike Kemba Walker and Nikola Vucevic, Khris Middleton is still in the playoffs, as is Tobias Harris with the 76ers. Middleton can really raise his stock if he has some kind of heroic playoff performance and does not have much to lose if the Milwaukee Bucks end up getting squashed at some point.

More from LA Sports Hub

Middleton is someone whose name emerged in the Lakers rumors months ago as a potential target from the front office and to be quite frank when those reports first surfaced I was in disbelief.

All of this hype towards a second star leading to the Lakers only getting Middleton? That would be a massive disappointment.

However, in terms of a plan B superstar, Middleton would be a nice addition by the Lakers. Like Vucevic, he also earned his first all-star appearance this season and has proved playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo that he is the perfect Robin to a superstar’s Batman.

While playing with LeBron is a much bigger challenge than playing with the Greek Freak, Middleton still knows what it is like to be the sidekick on a prolific contending team, which is going to remove any potential headaches in this process.

Middleton also slides into this starting five with ease. He can realistically play the two and create a very promising backcourt alongside Lonzo Ball.

Next. The perfect role player for the Lakers. dark

Would the Lakers be better off landing one of the game’s best superstars? Absolutely. However, Middleton would not be a bad option if push comes to shove.
