Los Angeles Clippers: Kawhi Leonard has to be main focus in free agency
By Hil Lopez
Kawhi Leonard might still be in the NBA Playoffs but that is not stopping the speculation around him joining the Los Angeles Clippers.
As the playoffs have reached the Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Clippers will have some important work to do ahead of the free agency signing period on July 1. They need to find out who they want to target to potentially sign for next season.
The best option out of all the free agency fit wise would be Kawhi Leonard.
Kawhi has been nothing short of spectacular in these playoffs. In his first and potentially only season as a Raptor, he has led them to the Eastern Conference Finals. He has averaged 31.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals.

The three-time All-Star has been ridiculously efficient shooting wise as well with a 53.9% from the field as well as over 86% from the free throw line.
In addition to his all-around statistics, Kawhi is a tenacious defender. Although he has a high usage rate on offense, he never sacrifices his defensive prowess. In fact, in Game 7 against the Sixers, he was tasked with guarding the hottest scoring Sixer player in the series Jimmy Butler and allowed him to score just 16 points.
On the other hand, Kawhi scored 41 points. His defensive nature has had a great influence on his current Raptors teammates and has made them more together as a team. The four-time All-Defensive player knows how to get the job done in a gritty and efficient way.
One of the best things about Kawhi is that he is an ego-less superstar. In the day and age of superstars making spectacles of themselves at press conferences (Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving), he does no such thing.
Kawhi is one of the few superstars who just puts his head down and does whatever is asked of him without complaining. Regardless, Kawhi looks at the long-term goal in getting the job done in winning the chip rather and making his teammates better than just thinking about himself and looking like a diva.
Lastly, Kawhi’s offseason home is actually in Southern California. He recently purchased a home in the Rancho Santa Fe in January. This hopefully is a big a clue that Kawhi could be deciding to choose the Los Angeles Clippers for one of his potential destinations as a free agent this summer.
Kawhi is one of best NBA superstars that the league has to offer with his efficient scoring and tenacious defense. He is also one of the most ego-less superstars and can help a team build chemistry to be better as a whole in order to reach its maximized potential.
In an NBA world where talent is needed to order to attain the ultimate goal, which is winning an NBA championship, Kawhi offers that and the Los Angeles Clippers main focus should be on him no matter what the cost.
