Los Angeles Clippers: Three plan B options if Kawhi Leonard doesn’t sign
By Jason Reed
3. Trade for Anthony Davis, go from there
The biggest move the Los Angeles Clippers could make aside from signing Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant would be to trade for Anthony Davis. This is not a pipe dream, either, as the Clippers have the trade ammo to make this deal happen.

The Clippers could send Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jerome Robinson, Danilo Gallinari, Montrezl Harrell, the Miami Heat 2021 unprotected first round pick and 1-2 more future first-round picks for Davis.
It might not be the best offer that the Pelicans can get but if the team is against trading with the Los Angeles Lakers, they might just make this deal.
This is unlikely for the Clippers to make, though, because of the philosophy of the front office and the fact that Davis can utilize his player option and leave after the 2019 season. If the Clippers can guarantee that Davis will sign an extension, then this trade could become likely.
Either way, the Clippers would have some work to do to fill out the rest of the roster. The roster is already pretty thin with all of the impending free agents and the Clippers could certainly have to make some additions.
However, the positive would be that the Clippers would not be sacrificing any cap space in order to land Davis because they are including Gallinari in the trade. This gives the Clippers plenty of cap space to bring in another superstar as well as add some key pieces to fill out the bench.
Davis is up there with Durant and Leonard in the elite ranks of the NBA and is one of the five best players at worst when he is at his best. Taking a shot at him, with some long-term insurance, wouldn’t be the worst idea.
