4,4,4,4: It was the fourth NBA title for coach Phil Jackson as Lakers coach, it was also the fourth title for Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher as Lakers players. Jackson became the third Lakers coach to win 4 NBA titles joining John Kundla and Pat Riley. It was also the Lakers fourth title of the decade, more than any team in the NBA or in the four major sports.
10: For his career, it marked the 10th time that Jackson won an NBA title. This broke his tie with Red Auerbach at nine titles. It also meant that Jackson became the first coach among the four top North American sports to win 10 championships.
32.4/5.6/7.4: Kobe Bryant was named the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP thanks to his 32.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists. Bryant won his first Finals MVP of his career and his corresponding statistics were the best combination of numbers since Jerry West averaged 37.9 points and 7.4 assists in 1969.
This year NBA fans are watching the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors battle it out. Ten years ago, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers proved all the critics wrong.
