3. Danny Green

Danny Green is the perfect shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, with or without Kawhi Leonard. There are two routes to getting Green this offseason and it is all dependent on what Green values more, money or being a contender.

More from LA Sports Hub

If the Lakers do land Kawhi Leonard, the team can approach Green and offer him a chance to follow his teammate from San Antonio and Toronto and once again play on a contending team. This would present a chance for Green to definitely win another championship and likely win at least two more, giving him four for his career.

He would not get a great payday as the team would have to use a mid-level exception on him, which would grant him just one season at $5.1 million. It would be a bit tricky after that in terms of keeping him around, but the idea of contending for a title with Leonard again could be intriuging.

Or, if the Lakers miss out on Kawhi, the team can throw more money at Green, ensuring he will be interested in coming to Los Angeles. The Lakers are obviously still a contender without Leonard and the team can use that same pitch, just with more dollar signs behind it.

Now, the team could sign Green to a three-year, $30-40 million contract for his services as the textbook three and D shooting guard.

He has his head-shaking moments but he is still a former All-Defensive player that shot 45.5 percent from beyond the arc last season. Having his defense on one side of the court and his off-ball three-point shot on the other is exactly what the LeBron James and Anthony Davis need.
