Los Angeles Dodgers: Looking to win sixth in a row against Robbie Ray
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers have won five games in a row but face a tough challenge in Arizona southpaw, Robbie Ray.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are really good at home, every Dodger fan knows that. The team has been the best in baseball at home this season and have carried that success into this long current homestand.
The Dodgers are seven games into a 10-game homestand and are 6-1 in those seven games. Los Angeles has won the last five, two of which were by walk-off, something the team has done a staggering 10 times this season.

The Dodgers now have a 46-15 record at Dodger Stadium this season and have beat up the National League West. Both of those trends point to success for the Dodgers on Friday, as the team welcomes the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game series.
While we have every reason to believe that the Dodgers will get it done against the Diamondbacks, nothing is guaranteed. That is especially true considering the Dodgers are facing Robbie Ray, who has carved the Dodgers up in the past.
Ray always seems to have success against the Dodgers in term of limiting runs but the Dodgers are great at working his pitch count and forcing him out of the game early. The offense is going to look to do that again on Friday in order to get him out.
Or they could hammer Ray and force him out of the game early that way, which is preferred. Either way, here is our selection for our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series.
Jason’s pick (Current streak: 1): A.J. Poollock
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been limiting A.J. Pollock‘s playing time here recently as the team is being cautious with Pollock’s groin. However, after resting on Wednesday and getting an off-day on Thursday, Pollock should be primed for a big game if he is ready on Friday.
Pollock has been really good against his old team in the limited number of times he faced him and he killed Ray in their matchups earlier this season. In the first time facing Ray, Pollock went 2-2 with a home run, three RBIs and a walk.
Chances are that he will not keep up the 1.000 batting average and on-base percentage but the righty-on-lefty matchup is hard to ignore, especially considering there aren’t many more options with Chris Taylor, Enrique Hernandez and David Freese all on the IL.
I do not need Pollock to get on base every single plate appearance in order to extend my streak. All I need is one base hit, which Pollock is primed to provide.
