Los Angeles Lakers: Three bold predictions for Kyle Kuzma in 2019
By Jason Reed
3. There will be Kyle Kuzma trade rumors at some point in the season
I know, I know. The last thing that Laker fans want to hear about after two years of rumors is more rumors. Don’t worry, we are not talking about any rumors themselves, just the idea that there will be rumors in the future.
Yes, it sounds twisted and does not really make sense. Heck, I am the one writing this and I even confused myself. Let me explain.

This is not to say that I think Kuzma should be traded or that there should be any sort of rumors around him, not at all. However, knowing the nature of the NBA and the nature of a team with LeBron James on it, you kind of have to go into the year expecting some sort of outside noise.
That outside noise might be Kuzma trade rumors, especially if the Lakers are underperforming by the trade deadline. Think about it: the team is not doing as great as expected. They need one more impact player to really make a difference and they only have one young asset left to send.
Kuzma is the low hanging fruit. The team is already deep in the frontcourt and he could theoretically be a part of a significant deal. The team can pull this off as well, as they could pair one of their expiring contracts in a trade.
Will a trade happen? Probably not. Exactly the right situation needs to arise for the team to not only pull the trigger on a trade but find a suitable trade partner and a logical target.
However, that does not mean that there will not be rumors and rumblings, because there will be. So don’t get too surprised.
