After a 10-game homestand, the Los Angeles Dodgers are on the other side of the country with a three-game series against the Miami Marlins.

The Los Angeles Dodgers had their last extended homestand of the season to begin the month of May and did not disappoint with their performance. The Dodgers hammered home that they are the best home team in baseball, going 8-2 in the 10 games at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers will be home again on August 20 for a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays and a three-game series against the New York Yankees. Before then, the team finds itself on the East Coast with one should-be easy series and a challenging series.

First, the Dodgers square off against the Miami Marlins in a three-game series. The Dodgers swept the Marlins at Dodger Stadium in mid-July and are going to look to do the same against the NL’s worst team.

The Marlins made it a close game in the first game against the Dodgers but were defeated 10-6 and 9-0 in the last two games of the series.

The 10-6 game saw Clayton Kershaw take the mound and deliver six two-hit innings with 10 strikeouts. However, the Dodger bullpen was unable to protect a 6-0 lead and allowed the Marlins to tie the game in the top of the eighth, only for Matt Beaty to take the lead right back with a three-run shot.

Kershaw is undoubtedly going to look to have the same kind of performance at Marlins Park, a park he has a 1.85 ERA at.

Kershaw is unbeaten in his career when the Dodgers score four or more runs of support and that what the offense is looking to do against Jordan Yamamoto. As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can get at least one base knock in the offense’s efforts.

Jason’s pick (Current streak: 2): Cody Bellinger

It has been a while since we picked the same bat two games in a row but that is exactly what we are doing for Tuesday’s game as we are going with none other than Cody Bellinger.

Bellinger has not had the hottest bat in the world and has definitely come back down to earth since June 1. While his batting average is just .257 since June 1, he is still getting on base and slugging with the best of them as he has a .946 OPS in that span.

Bellinger did not face Yamamoto the first time he faced the Dodgers but he is a young right-hander that Max Muncy and Joc Pederson had success against earlier in the season.

Most importantly, Bellinger has done well at Marlins Park in his career with a .318 batting average at the park and a cycle under his belt.

We said that Sunday’s game was going to kickstart another hot streak for Bellinger and he went 2-4 with a home run. That hot streak will continue on Tuesday with another home run.
