Los Angeles Rams: Who will be the team’s number one receiver?
Brandin Cooks
Brandin Cooks is a great receiver, don’t get me wrong. He has proved himself to be one of the better wideouts in the NFL.
One of the reasons I think he will be the third option is that he looks to be inconsistent. Cooks had a great start to last season. The rest of the season was a little bit shakier.

Cooks would gather very low receptions and low yardage in plenty of games this past season. Then, out of nowhere, he would go for 100 plus yards and touchdown. If he was more of a consistent receiver I would say without a doubt he would be the number one on the team, but, he isn’t. Or at least last season he wasn’t.
Touchdowns. Cooks had five of them last season, a decent amount. Yet, he was still outnumbered by Kupp, who only played eight games last season. The red zone is also a problem, he only had two receiving touchdowns from four yards or less.
The last reason that I consider him to be the third option for the team is that he seems to be a long yardage receiver for the team. I know, Robert Woods had more yards than him last year, but Cooks had more games of 100 plus yards. Also, Cooks had the highest receiving yards per reception on the team.
Brandin Cooks will always be a great receiver for this team. The only thing that is holding him back from being the number one option is his role in the offense as the deep-ball receiver. It kind of limiting his dimensions on offense for the team.
In the end, though, the Los Angeles Rams will still be one of the best-receiving groups in the NFL. They are like a three-headed hydra. The most dangerous three-headed receiving team that show no signs of slowing down, or becoming easier to defend either.
