Los Angeles Dodgers look for the good old Canadian sweep
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Dodgers have won both games against the Toronto Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium and look to complete the sweep on Thursday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are doing exactly what they should be doing against a team among the worst in the league. Los Angeles has won both contests against the Toronto Blue Jays in this series and can make it an old fashioned sweep with a win on Thursday.
The two wins could not have been any different for the Dodgers but that does not matter, they all count the same. In the opening game of the series, the Dodger bats exploded for 16 runs to guide the team to a 16-3 victory.
The same could not be said in the second game. Will Smith‘s solo shot was the only offense in the entire game up until the ninth inning, where Rowdy Tellez blasted a solo shot to tie the game and give Kenley Jansen another blown save.

To complete the trifecta, Max Muncy hit an absolute moonshot in the bottom of the tenth inning for a walk-off solo home run to send Dodger fans home happy and take some of the burden off of Jansen.
Kenta Maeda gets the ball tonight for the Dodgers while Toronto sends Jacob Waguespack to the bump. Toronto undoubtedly wants to see Waguespack go at least five innings to help soften the load on a bullpen that has already been used fairly heavily.
As part of our Los Angeles Dodgers Beat the Streak series, here is who we think can get at least one base hit and help the Dodgers force Waguespack out of the game early.
Jason’s pick (Current streak: 3): Enrique Hernandez
It is Enrique Hernandez‘ bobblehead night on Thursday night so I am going to make a decision that I will probably regret and go with the fan-favorite utility infielder. Personally, Hernandez has burned me every single time I have picked him outside of the coveted matchup against Madison Bumgarner.
Although there is a right-handed pitcher on the mound Hernandez is likely going to start as the team looks to give someone else a day off. Because of Hernandez’ versatility, he will find a place in the lineup.
There are no matchup numbers (obviously), but Hernandez has not been great this year and has been especially bad against right-handed pitching with just a .229 batting average.
However, with the spotlight on him and the Dodgers’ tendency to produce magical moments, Hernandez will come up big on his bobblehead night and will extend my streak to four. I got to have faith.
