3. Green Bay Packers

I do not know this for certain, but I have a very strong feeling that at the top of Gordon’s potential trade destinations, the Green Bay Packers are circled 10 times over. Not only do the Packers present an opportunity to contend this season, but they have hometown roots for Gordon.

More from LA Sports Hub

Gordon was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, which is 40 miles south of Milwaukee and 150 miles south of Green Bay. Chances are that Gordon grew up a Packers fan as it is the only football team in Wisconsin and even if he didn’t, he presents him a chance to go back home.

Heck, Gordon even attended the University of Wisconsin, so it is obvious that being close to home does have some sort of significance in his mind.

The one caveat is that the Packers do not have the cap space to offer much more than the Los Angeles Chargers. They can offer a deal similar to the one that was reported, but Gordon is not going to make record-setting money.

The Packers have just over $11 million in cap space, although some of that could be shed in this trade.

Aaron Jones is not a bad running back but he certainly is not Melvin Gordon and putting Gordon alongside Aaron Rodgers is the perfect thing to take some of the pressure off of Rodgers and give him the best chance to win another Super Bowl in his career.

Next. Chargers have hot start written all over them. dark

It seems almost too perfect to not happen. The Chargers still need to get a return that makes it worthwhile, but I would not be surprised if Gordon ends up back home.
