3. There is so much intriguing upside on this roster

I think it is safe to say that we realistically know what the Lakers’ floor is this season, barring some kind of injury to one of the stars. With full health for LeBron and Davis, there still is a chance that the Lakers struggle out of the game and find themselves as the sixth seed or so in a deep Western Conference.

While that seems bad, having that be the floor of the team, as long as they are healthy, is not bad whatsoever. It is the ceiling that really gets exciting.

The Lakers ceiling all depends on how the pieces around LeBron and Davis play and that is where there is so much intrigue. There are so many guys on this roster that have the potential and the seeds to overachieve.

Alex Caruso jumps to mind. Caruso has looked great in his limited time with the Lakers but has become a fan-favorite. With size and above-average defense, if Caruso can improve his shooting then he can be extremely valuable. He is someone that could branch out in a huge way.

Avery Bradley is another one of those players. His poor performance with the Los Angeles Clippers completely hurt his stock but the foundation for him being a great two-way player and top-25 defensive player in the league is absolutely there.

Dwight Howard is someone who is getting a millionth fresh start and hopefully can stay true to his word of not being a locker room presence. With LeBron as his teammate, it would not be all that surprising to see him excel.

Heck, even a player like Kyle Kuzma, who we seem to have figured out, could have a massive leap from year two to year three.

There is so much upside on this Los Angeles Lakers team and if only half of those mentioned live up to it then the team is going to be extremely fun to watch.
