1. 2017: 104-58 .642 win percentage +11 NLW Standings

The cream of the crop, the 2017 Los Angeles Dodgers set the standard for all Dodgers teams. This team set a new Los Angeles team record for wins in a season. In July, the team went 20-3 and were the first team to do so since the 1936 New York Giants.

The Dodgers’ hot streak was fueled by the emergence of rookie Cody Bellinger, who brought his home run bat to from Triple-A when Adrian Gonzalez was felled by a bad back. Bellinger would set a new Dodgers and NL rookie record with 39 home runs on the way to winning the NL Rookie of the Year award.

Bellinger was backed by his teammates as five other Dodgers hit 20 or more home runs and five players drove in 70 runs. Clayton Kershaw was again lost to a back injury but his teammates on a pitching-rich squad backed him up.

The Dodgers pitching staff was first or second in ERA, hits allowed, runs allowed, walks, strikeouts, and saves. The Dodgers could hit, hit for power, pitch, and had lights out bullpen.

2017 was the year everything finally fell into place for the team until September rolled around when all of a sudden the bottom fell out and the Dodgers at one point lost 18 of 19, including a seven-game losing streak their longest since 1992.

By the end of the month, the Dodgers finally got back on track and they used that momentum and rode it all the way to game seven of the World Series, giving the Dodgers their first NL pennant in 29 years.

If the September swoon hadn’t occured then there is no other team that could touch these Dodgers but with the current crop on pace to match or beat their record, then this team could fall to number two.
