Danny Green: Steals

Danny Green was the most important post-AD pickup that the Los Angeles Lakers made this summer. The Lakers missed out on the best role-playing free agents after waiting for Kawhi Leonard to make his decision but managed to land the one solid name that did wait out as well in Danny Green.

More from LA Sports Hub

Green is the textbook three and D player that fits on any team that LeBron is on as well as any team that is contending for a title. Green’s playstyle can really be plugged into any NBA team and having a player of his caliber in a playoff series to swing the momentum is absolutely huge.

Heck, while he was not the star for either team, it is no surprise that Green has two rings on his hand. Good players often get put on teams that want to legitimately contend.

While Green is known for his defensive prowess, he has also been more of a spot-up defender, and as a result, has never really been an elite steal artist in his career. Green has averaged actually one steal per game in his career with his career-high being 1.2 per game.

The reason why Green will set a new personal best this season is because of his usage on the Los Angeles Lakers. He is likely going to get more minutes than he really ever has before and he is going to be tasked with being the team’s number one defender against guards and small forwards.

All of that opportunity is undoubtedly going to lead to Green picking more pockets. He is going to average at least 1.5 steals per game this season.

The Lakers are desperately going to need the best out of Green on defense as he and Davis are the most important players on that side of the court.
