The Los Angeles Rams improve and show out in win over the Saints
Week two was full of the Los Angeles Rams of last year. Todd Gurley having a good day, Jared Goff throwing well and the defense holding the Saints to only nine points.
Week two was a much better showing from the Los Angeles Rams than in week one. Granted, the Saints were out Drew Brees for what practically was the whole game. Still, the Rams showed out on offense and didn’t slow down on defense.
Jared Goff had a much better day than he did vs. the Panthers in week one. He threw for 283 yards while going 19/28. A pretty solid day from Goff. He did manage to lose a fumble although Goff more than made up for it by making his throws and being good decisively.
It looks like there is a new sheriff in town at the number one wide receiver spot. That man happens to be Cooper Kupp. In my article about who the Rams number one receiver could be, I did put Woods above Kupp, based upon last years performance. Yet, I did say that I wouldn’t be all that surprised if Kupp emerged as the wide receiver one, as he seems to remain Goff’s favorite target.

Kupp had only five receptions for 120 yards on the day. He was also targeted the most, being looked at 9 times. Kupp just seems to have a great connection with Goff, and that does not look like it will stop anytime soon. I would say from here on out, expect Kupp to be the number one receiver and one of the most consistent.
Brandin Cooks had himself a solid outing. For only catching three passes and being targeted four, I would say he had a good outing. He managed to get 74 yards and a touchdown. Robert Woods, however… had a dismal day for the Rams. Only being targeted twice and catching both for 33 yards.
Gurley had a solid day. Gathering 63 yards and a touchdown on only 16 carries. It seems that Gurley is still limited with touches, but he is doing his best to make the most of them. Malcolm Brown had a disappointing day. Having only 37 yards on six touches.
The Los Angeles Rams defense made their presence known and held the Bress-less Saints to only 9 points. Clay Matthews and Michael Brockers both had a sack each. The defense as a whole impressed today, John Johnson III even grabbed an interception. If there was ever a way the Rams defense should play, it was showcased best in week two.
Week three should have a more challenging opponent in the Browns. If the Rams continue to play like they did today, they won’t have a problem with beating most teams in the league.
