The USC football team has probably been one of the most difficult teams in college football to really gauge, especially after defeating Utah at home.

The USC football team entered Week 4 as the underdogs and as they did in Week 2 against then-ranked Stanford, the Trojans got it done, got the victory and are now ranked in the top-25.

The now-ranked 21 USC Trojans are on the road in Week 5 and will take on the 17th-ranked Washington Huskies. This is yet another hard game to predict as the Trojans have been one of the most difficult teams to really gauge thus far this season.

On one hand, you have a team that spanked Stanford and also upset Utah, who was viewed as one of the cream of the crop elite teams in the country. On the other hand, you have a team that dropped a disappointing loss to BYU that really would have propelled the Trojans.

Beating BYU on the road is no easy feat but winning that game would have solidified USC’s win over Utah. Instead, it makes me question what version of USC we will get, as it seems to be a different version every week.

If I think that the Trojans are going to lose the usually win, as they did against Stanford and Utah. Then, when I think they have the win in the bag they lose in overtime to BYU. Everything I say always flips, so I am not going to sit here and tell you why they will win or lose against Washington.

The one thing I will say is do not take the same mindset that I had when the team played BYU and expect a win. Just because the Trojans had a great win against a better team in Utah does not mean that they are going go into Washington and easily get a W.

I think most fans do not have those unreasonable expectations but despite Washington being ranked lower than Utah, this game is not going to be easy. Not only is USC on the road, but they probably are not going to get all of the help that they got against Utah.

Utah helped the Trojans a lot in this game and really could have scored way more points than they did. The Utes left so many points on the board and that is not something that is going to happen every week for the Trojans.

Every drive for Utah went into USC territory in the first half. The drives that didn’t score resulted in a blocked field goal, a turnover on downs and a fumble on USC’s two-yard line. With the field goal and fumble that is 10 points that Utah left on the board in the second half.

Utah did not make as many mistakes in the second half but it was one massive mistake, which was getting sacked for a safety on an ugly play, that resulted in the team losing this game.

Overall, Utah dominated this game in the box score. They had 76 more yards than USC, nine more first downs and had over 63 percent of the possession time in this game.

But the game is not won in the box score and is won with the final score, which is why the USC football team prevailed. However, they are not going to have that same luxury every week, as more times than not the dominating team is the team that walks away with a victory.

USC benefitted from being at home and capitalized on some key mistakes by Utah. You cannot take that away from them.

Next. Chargers' strength has turned into a weakness. dark

But as good as this win was, you cannot let this one win define the team and expect the same thing in Week 5. Expect a good game, don’t outright expect a win for the USC Football Trojans.
