Los Angeles Lakers: Three huge positives through seven games
3. The Los Angeles Lakers are competitive and entertaining once again
The Los Angeles Lakers have officially returned.
The chip has not yet been secured, but these games have been pretty darn nice. First in the west, triple-doubles by LeBron, Anthony Davis being a monster, Howard and Avery Bradley looking like their younger selves, everything is looking good right now.

The Lakers are currently the best defensive team in the league, leading in blocks and charges taken, which is such a big improvement from last year.
For nine years the Lakers kind of fell off the map, quietly turning into the laughing stock of the NBA, but with LeBron arriving, and trading for Anthony Davis, and surrounding them with proven vets, it seems as if the team is finally headed towards the correct direction.
In these past seven games, the Lakers seem to be strengthening their chemistry more and more. Coming back from trailing, dominating teams they are supposed to dominate, playing as a unit, the Lakers are doing it all. AND THEY ARE ONLY SEVEN GAMES IN.
There is still a lot to improve on, and the Lakers have yet to play any real contenders, but the team is showing resilience and glimpses of domination, and that will only strengthen as time goes on.
The city of Los Angeles can now finally tune in and see two stars on the court, and see a team that will actually contend for a championship, not just a team who is fairly fun to watch with a plethora of unknown players.
For the first time in seven years, the Lakers will definitely finish with a record over .500. The season is still young and there is still plenty of basketball to be played, but as of right now, the blocks, alley-oops, the passes, the defense and the stars will keep Los Angeles entertained until June.
