Los Angeles Dodgers: Right-handed power bats worth trading for
By Jason Reed
3. Mookie Betts
There is no bigger trade to make this offseason than trading for Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers would be scary if they added Betts to the lineup. It may seem far-fetched, but the seeds are planted for the Dodgers to shock the baseball world and get this done.

First and foremost, various reports and speculation around the Boston Red Sox not wanting to pay Betts a massive extension have been circling, which is where these trade rumors began with. With one year left of arbitration, the Red Sox would get the most out of Betts by trading him now.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, finally have space under the luxury tax threshold with an estimated $104 million in space, according to Spotrac. There is plenty of salary-cap space now to get Betts and even more opening up in the future to trade for him.
It would require a pricey trade return but it would be worth it for the Dodgers. Joc Pederson feels like a lock to be included, as it gives the Red Sox a replacement option that is only locked down for one year.
Dustin May probably has to be in the deal as well as the Dodgers top pitching prospect who is also big-league ready. Keibert Ruiz can be included. He is one of the top catching prospects in baseball but with Will Smith in the majors, the Dodgers will be just fine.
Finally, the Dodgers can also include a prospect near the backend of the top-30 list, giving the Red Sox three top-30 prospects, two of which are elite, and an established outfielder.
That is a lot to give for one guaranteed year of Betts but the Dodgers can afford to give it and not even miss a beat.
That would then give the team an outfield of Betts, Cody Bellinger and an Alex Verdugo–A.J. Pollock left-field platoon.
