2. Gavin Lux would get a great trade return and create something special

The Los Angeles Dodgers are not going to get much for one season of Justin Turner. The team could get a decent return out of trading Max Muncy, but they would have to find a contender that is willing to sell an asset that is better than Muncy, which likely would not happen.

Lux, on the other hand, is one of the highest-touted prospects in the league after his incredible 2019. Lux can be the centerpiece of a truly special deal that could give the Dodgers two massive stars this offseason: Rendon and whoever else the team looks to add.

One name to keep in mind is Mookie Betts. I actually proposed a similar dream scenario if the team wanted to trade Corey Seager and the same scenario could be done with Lux.

Lux could be the headliner in a deal with Boston, which is perfect because Boston needs a second baseman, along with Joc Pederson and a young pitching prospect, such as Tony Gonsolin, to bring Betts into town.

The impression would be that the Dodgers would extend Betts and by trading Lux, the team is creating a situation in which they get two stars instead of one.

It does not have to be Betts, though. Perhaps the trade rumors around Jacob deGrom that have been teased finally come to fruition and the Dodgers include Lux in a package for deGrom. It can be a different elite pitcher that becomes available if need be.

Next. 2019 grades for every Dodger. dark

It is a unique situation that is unlike past offseasons for the Dodgers and while I am not complaining if Lux is a Dodger for the next 10 years, I certainly would not be shocked if the Dodgers decided to springboard his value into something bigger.
