The Los Angeles Rams season is over with five games remaining to play because there is no way they will be getting into the playoffs.

The 6-5 Los Angeles Rams are having a hard time pulling together wins this season, meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks are cruising through teams on their way to the playoffs.

There is no chance the Rams will be in the playoffs, and it’s not just one person’s fault.

The 49ers are at the top of the NFC with a 10-1 record, and the Seahawks are right behind them with a 9-2 record trying to overtake the top spot in the NFC West. The Saints clinched the first playoff spot and have a commanding lead in the NFC South.

The 49ers and Seahawks will likely get in — one winning the division and the other as the wild card. The Packers and Vikings are tied for the top NFC North spot with 8-3 records and it’s likely the second-place finisher will take the other wild card spot. The 6-6 Cowboys and 5-6 Eagles are fighting for the top spot in the NFC East, but the loser will likely be out of the playoffs.

The Rams are on the outside looking in, and it’s hard to grasp that reality since it feels like the NFC West became competitive almost overnight.

Let’s break down the problems.

The offensive line has been really banged up all season long, Jared Goff and Todd Gurley have been under-performing, and Cooper Kupp is the only healthy receiver of the Rams’ trio.

The Rams decided to trade away both of their star cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters to bring in a linebacker, an offensive lineman, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey — who has been doing slightly better in his five games than Talib and Peters did in their games in LA this season.

Their remaining schedule is at Arizona on Sunday, vs. Seattle next week, at Dallas in Week 15, at San Francisco Week 16, and vs. Arizona to finish off the season.

The two Arizona games can be wins, but the other three are almost impossible to win looking at how each of those three needs to win all of their remaining to stay in their playoff position.

The Rams are DONE — D.O.N.E. Put a fork in them. Use them as a side dish with your Thanksgiving leftovers. It’s time to look at next season and see if they can afford to bring back Ramsey, or let him go.
