3. Where will the Los Angeles Dodgers go next?

I really do think that the Los Angeles Dodgers end up re-signing Hyun-Jin Ryu. The issue for the Dodgers is not the salary, as they have plenty of space under the luxury tax, it is the legnth of the contract. The team does not want to be embroiled in a bad contract in four years that possibly prevents them from extending Corey Seager, Cody Bellinger or Walker Buehler.

That is what makes Ryu such as good fit as the most he is getting is likely four years and even that might be a stretch. Even if Ryu does not pan out, it won’t hurt the team in the long-term and that is important.

Plus, Ryu is also familiar with the Dodgers and I do think that plays a role in making a decision, especially for a foreign player. While money definitely talks, it would not be surprising if Ryu is favoring going back to LA over playing elsewhere.

I definitely do not think a trade with the Indians happens and I think the next-biggest move that the Dodgers will make is signing Dellin Betances, which alongside Blake Treinen, would help bolster the bullpen.

I understand that both can be viewed as restoration projects that won’t work out but if one of them returns to how they were before then it will be worth the money if both can be 75 percent of what they were two years ago then the Dodgers’ bullpen gets significantly better.

For those that are hoping for the big blockbuster, the trade that I think has the best chance, which does not have many repots on right now (which might be a good thing, the Dodgers usually work in silence) is a trade for Mookie Betts.

That can be done for a reasonable price that the Dodgers can afford and if the team signs Ryu then it would be more willing to part ways with May. May, Keibert Ruiz and Joc Pederson are more than enough for Betts and would be a massive move for the team to make.

I would not get my hopes up or expect that to happen, but I definitely think it is something that could happen.
