Los Angeles Lakers: 14-game road winning streak ends in Indiana
The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a tear on the road to start off the season. But, that all came crashing down on Tuesday night against the Pacers. With Anthony Davis out, along with Kyle Kuzma, the Lakers were left shorthanded and ended up leaving Indiana with a loss.
The Los Angeles Lakers, as a team, played great against the Pacers. But, it just wasn’t enough to leave with a win. An off night for LeBron James paired with Anthony Davis being out led to the Lakers’ fourth loss of the season.
LeBron started off the game hot and cooled down fast from then on until the last buzzer. He Only scored 20 points and shot a terrible 8/20 from the field. It was a bad shooting night for LeBron, although he still managed to get nine assists on the night, dishing it out per usual.
The role players are who shined. Dwight Howard was the brightest among them. He scored 20 points himself to go along with six boards. Dwight had himself one of his better games of the season, which was a big part of why the Lakers were able to stick around and almost pull out the win.

JaVale McGee also had himself a nice night. He scored10 points and nabbed eight rebounds. McGee played effective in the 22 minutes he was given. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also added 10 points of his own, which came at the cost of his 4/10 from the field.
Avery Bradley and Alex Caruso both played solid games. Caruso could have iced the game and won it for the Lakers in the final seconds, instead he missed the open three. Bradley scored 13 points on 6/14 shooting while having a pretty effective night making plays for the team. Caruso added 11 points and shot 4/8 while also continuing his defensive playmaking.
There were some not-so-bright spots for the role-players as well. Jared Dudley, who got the start in place of AD, only scored three points while shooting 1/5 and still played 15 minutes.
To go along with him in the starting lineup, Danny Green only scored six points, which he only shot the ball at a minimal 2/4 from the field. Green is going to have to step up offensively for the Lakers more in these big upcoming games.
Green held his own defensively as he does every game, unlike Dudley, who seemed like he just could not play defense. I think almost every Pacer scored on him tonight. With the team having a short-handed off night it was bound to end up as a loss for the Los Angeles Lakers. I would expect the team to re-group and get ready for the upcoming challenge of the Bucks.
