5. Forward Jeff Carter

Thanks to a trade at the 2012 February deadline, Jeff Carter became the final puzzle in the Kings’ quest to win their first Stanley Cup. Carter was acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets and from there the team took off. That spring Carter lead the Kings with eight goals in the playoffs including scoring the game-winning goal in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final in overtime.

After helping the Kings secure their first Stanley Cup Carter was at it again in 2014 helping the Kings win a second cup scoring 10 goals and being second among league leaders with 25 goals.

During the decade with the Kings Carter has been a consistent goal scorer placing third among the Kings with 169 goals. He’s also provided veteran leadership serving as an assistant captain and centering the famous “That 70’s” Line of Carter, Tyler Toffoli, and Tanner Pearson.

Truly the trade for Carter was one of the best moves of the decade without Carter perhaps the Kings don’t achieve all that they did in the decade.
