Los Angeles Rams: Offensive line free agents to bolster the line
By Jason Reed
3. Jason Peters
If the Los Angeles Rams want to get the most bang for their buck without committing long-term to an offensive lineman then the best route might be to sign veterans to one-year deals and slowly build the offensive line up over time.

Like Whitworth, another veteran offensive tackle is on the market in Jason Peters and it would not be a terrible idea to sign both Whitworth and Peters for less of a cost combined than signing a marquee offensive tackle.
Jason Peters made $6 million last season and it is safe to say that the Los Angeles Rams could sign him to a one-year deal for $5 million, especially if they incentivize it with games played. Signing Whitworth to the exact same contract is possible and gives the Rams depth at tackle.
This is good for multiple reasons. Not only does it add two bodies instead of one, but it allows the Rams to space out their offensive line overhaul. The Rams could draft one or two offensive linemen in this draft to help shore up the middle, or even back up Peters and Whitworth, giving themselves chances to improve other positions in the draft.
This would help the young offensive lineman as they would be learning from two of the best tackles of the 2010s, having a positive implication for longer than the contract terms.
The big hurdle would not be the money, but convincing Peters to sign away from Philadelphia. However, as we previously stated, the California lifestyle, playing in a brand new stadium for a great coach, might be too hard to pass on.
