1. John Offerdahl, LB, Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have some really good luck with the 52nd overall pick in the draft. Just four years after drafting Duper, the Dolphins selected linebacker John Offerdahl with the 52nd overall selection in the 1986 NFL Draft.

If this list would have extended to six people then the Dolphins would have had half of the people on this list because of Chris Chambers. Heck, maybe the LA Rams can capitalize on this and trade the 52nd overall pick for a first-round pick?

Okay, back to reality.

Offerdahl was one of the best linebackers in the entire league in the second half of the 1908s. While his prime in the NFL was short, it definitely was felt as Offerdahl came straight into the league out of West Michigan and became a difference-maker.

Offerdahl was a Pro Bowler in each of his first five seasons and was named an All-Pro in 1990, which was the peak of his career. Only 32 players in the history of the NFL have been named to five straight Pro Bowls to start their career; 18 of them occurred after the merger in 1970 and only seven were defensive players.

Offerdahl seemed well on his way to Canton and if he could produce another five seasons that were 90 percent as good as his first five then he undoubtedly would have been a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

However, like we often see in football, injuries plagued Offerdahl after the 1990 season. He had already missed half of two separate seasons in his first five years and played a combined 23 games in his last three seasons before calling it quits.
