As the Los Angeles Lakers get ready to head down to Orlando, they will be joined by Dwight Howard who has reportedly decided to go.

With the Los Angeles Lakers heading down to Orlando soon for the season to resume, they are getting ready for what they hope will be a lengthy stay.

This season, Los Angeles have been able to prove that they are one of the best teams in the league. When the season resumes, they will have the best record in the Western Conference, and while that won’t result in a home-court advantage, they will be the team to beat.

Even though they have been great all season, there are some concerns for when the season resumes. Recently, Avery Bradley decided to opt-out of the season due to the coronavirus and the potential impact on his family.

While Los Angeles has been able to add guys like J.R. Smith recently and Dion Waiters just before the season was suspended, there is some uncertainty there. Also, there was some concern that Dwight Howard might not be joining the team in Orlando.

However, Howard has reportedly decided that he will be making the trip to Florida to chase a ring, and he will be donating his salary to charities.

Having Howard is huge for them. Despite not being their first choice in free agency this season, Howard has been fantastic as the backup center for the Lakers. The combination of Howard and JaVale McGee has been a great 1-2 punch for the Lakers all season, as their production together rivals what an All-Star center would do.

If Howard was to opt-out, that would have but the Lakers in a tricky spot. Besides McGee and Anthony Davis, the Lakers would then be limited with their options in the frontcourt. However, Howard will be suiting up and getting ready to chase the championship that has eluded him. Hopefully, he and the Lakers can finish what they started this season.
